NFPA 99 requires healthcare facilities to have an Essential Electrical System (EES) with three distinct branches: the Life Safety Branch (exit lighting, alarms, egress), the Critical Branch (patient care areas, nurse call, task illumination) and the Equipment Branch (HVAC, sterilizers, large equipment). We engineer all three branches with the correct transfer switch sequencing, circuit segregation and panel labeling required for NFPA 99 compliance and AHJ approval.
