MEP engineering for industrial, warehouses & labs.
Large floor plates and heavy loads. We size the distribution, light the building efficiently and model the services so they can be built.

In shortWarehouse and industrial packages cover service and distribution sizing with voltage drop on long runs, high-bay lighting designed against the racking, dock and automation power, generators, and solar and EV charging.

In the USA and Canada, mechanical and plumbing include the calculations. In the other regions they come as design assist, drafting and modeling. Electrical calculations are included everywhere.
Questions about warehouses and industrial sites.
What does MEP design for a warehouse involve?
The incoming service and main distribution, high-bay lighting and photometrics, power for material-handling equipment and dock levelers, small power across large floor plates, and increasingly EV charging and solar-ready provisions. Scale is the constraint: long conductor runs make voltage drop the governing factor far more often than in a fit-out.
How is high-bay lighting designed for a distribution center?
To the target illuminance for the task, commonly around 20 to 30 footcandles in storage aisles and higher at pick and packing areas. We model it against the actual rack layout, because a layout modeled on an empty floor will fail once the racks go in, and design the controls to the energy code.
Why does voltage drop matter so much in a warehouse?
Because of distance. A logistics facility can run several hundred feet from the main switchgear to the furthest panel, and conductors sized for ampacity alone often exceed the recommended voltage drop. We calculate it on every feeder and branch circuit and upsize conductors or relocate equipment as needed.
Do you design power for material handling and automation?
Yes. Conveyors, sortation, automated storage, dock equipment and forklift charging rooms are designed to the vendor's nameplate and control requirements. Charging rooms need ventilation coordination and correctly sized circuits, and are a common source of late changes when the fleet specification arrives after the design.
Can you design EV charging and solar PV for an industrial site?
Yes. We size charger loads and design energy management so chargers share capacity without upsizing the service, and design rooftop PV to NEC Articles 690 and 705. Large warehouse roofs are among the best PV candidates there are.
Do you provide warehouse MEP engineering outside the US?
Yes. NEC and IECC in the US and Canada, and AS/NZS 3000 with NCC Section J in Australia and New Zealand. The approach is the same; the codes, equipment dimensions and clearances are not, so we design to the jurisdiction the project is in.
Which MEP services do you offer for warehouses and industrial sites?
For warehouses and industrial sites we provide electrical, mechanical and plumbing design assist, plus MEP drafting and Revit modeling. Typical scope includes service and distribution sizing, ventilation and make-up air and restrooms and break areas. The exact scope is agreed before we start.
Where do you provide MEP drafting and modeling for warehouses and industrial sites?
In every region we serve: the US and Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Finland and the Middle East. In the US and Canada we also prepare the mechanical and plumbing calculations; elsewhere mechanical and plumbing come as design assist, drafting and modeling. See regions.
